My shaping and designing is split into two wings; Lovelace Handshapes and Lovemachine Surfboards, which produces surfboards worldwide. This site is dedicated to my hand shapes, which are shaped from a raw foam blank by me with me with no exceptions.
Lovemachine boards are CNC cut and finish shaped by friends of mine in factories all over the world (USA East and West, France, UK, Australia, Hawai’i, Japan, Bali, Baja Mexico and Costa Rica), while anything that bears my signature and resin dot is 100% hand shaped by me for you. There are considerable differences between the two; Namely my ability to tweak, alter and create anything that will better suit your surfing and desires, the cost and availability are also different as my handshape ‘slots’ through the year tend to fill up quickly, where Lovemachine is available for orders at all times. The two projects are noticeably different in branding, logos and signature for clarity and transparency.

Custom surfboards are the epicenter of my daily life.
Since 2005 I have tried to create honest, hand shaped, legitimately custom surfboards.
‘Custom’ to me means your board is designed, tailored, tuned and shaped specifically for you and your surfing. My models are a baseline, but not the end-all of whats possible.
The rails are shaped to suit the waves you surf and your goals within surfing them, the rocker is tweaked to fit where you want to be in the wave, the outline is adjusted to your stance and style - every aspect of the board is tuned and specifically shaped for you based on our conversation about your order; My hand shapes are not cut on a CNC machine or adjusted on a computer. They are one-off, hand-made, true custom surfboards for you to travel the ocean and stomp all over…and love.
